About Michael Mengel
I started working with Boatshed Phuket in December 2023.
What did you do before working with Boatshed?
I have been in Thailand since 2000. At the beginning, I worked as a diving instructor. Over 10 years ago, I completed additional training as a commercial diver and now work primarily as a freelancer in Europe and occasionally in Asia.
What attracted you to become part of the Boatshed team?
I recently launched a website focused on underwater vessel inspections and boat cleaning. I was asked if I could see myself working as a yacht and boat broker as a member of Boatshed.
Are you a motorboater or a sailor?
I'm a bigger fan of sailing. I used to sail tiny boats when I was younger.
What is your most memorable boating experience?
Answering that is really challenging. I have been on boats and ships for over ten years. I spent various days, weeks, and months on offshore ships and dive boats. I'm assuming you're interested in hearing about boating adventures. That was back in my earlier years, when I would frequently visit Elba and Giglio, Italy, on training yachts.
