Whilst on a recent short break to the beautiful unspoiled Island of Koh Payam, we noticed this rather interesting looking vessel on the beach, after studying her lines for a while I decided that something was amiss, I vaguely recalled that vessels were required to show a green navigation light on their starboard side, whereas this fine example was displaying a 180 degree red, so intrigued was I that I even ventured forth, from by deck chair under the shade trees, to inspect the other side, where perhaps unsurprisingly I found a 180 degree green. Maybe I should not have been so shocked after all this time in Thailand, especially after the local Harbor Dept stating in the English language news paper, some time ago, that vessels at anchor should comply with the IRPCS by displaying an all round flashing red light !
