Saturday 25th August saw the 142nd Swanwick, Bursledon and Warsash Regatta held on the river Hamble get off to a great start, with dry weather, an afternoon high tide and crowds and crowds of sailors, local families all helping to make it a great day.

Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a Four Winns 245. These really are great boats with a really comfortable cockpit and plenty of seating. The cabin provides good space for stowing gear or getting out of the elements and could even be used for overnight weekending. This one seems to have had little use – the engine hours are low and the upholstery and fabrics are well presented. Please note that she is EU RCD Compliant (documents on file), VAT documentation is also on file.
Suffolk is no stranger to the Olympic Flame, having recently hosted it's transit from Lowestoft to Ipswich, where it arrived by boat in Ipswich Marina for the final part of it’s journey into Christchurch Park where it stayed for the night on it's way to the start of the games in London. That was back in July before the success of the GB team winning 29 Gold, 17 Silver and 19 Bronze medals.

Morfa Bychan Mobile NCI Station is the 3rd station to open in North Wales and the first mobile station for the UK It will be a future model for the NCI. It is positioned on Porthmadog Golf Course above the Powder House on the Glaslyn Estuary. We are grateful to the National Trust who own the land, and the Golf Club who have been so supportive in allowing us to site the Station where it overlooks the area of water which results in the highest number of RNLI rescues in North Wales.
Listed with Boatshed Newport, this Sea Ray 40 Motor Yacht is a beauty. She is limited in production and very hard to find on the market for her age and meticulous condition.
As brokers we often face some interesting challenges when negotiating the sale of a boat that makes our job all the more interesting. Recently Boatshed Dartmouth broker, Paul Singer, received an enquiry from a customer in Libya enquiring about a Galeon Galia on brokerage and in dry store with Ocean Leisure Storage. The purchase of the boat and transfer of funds was all successfully handled and then the challenge was getting the boat from Devon to Libya.

Whilst on a recent short break to the beautiful unspoiled Island of Koh Payam, we noticed this rather interesting looking vessel on the beach, after studying her lines for a while I decided that something was amiss, I vaguely recalled that vessels were required to show a green navigation light on their starboard side, whereas this fine example was displaying a 180 degree red, so intrigued was I that I even ventured forth, from by deck chair under the shade trees, to inspect the other side, where perhaps unsurprisingly I found a 180 degree green. Maybe I should not have been so shocked after all this time in Thailand, especially after the local Harbor Dept stating in the English language news paper, some time ago, that vessels at anchor should comply with the IRPCS by displaying an all round flashing red light !
Cowes week is underway, and the sun came out to get everyone into the boating spirit. Here at Boatshed Cowes, we are taking time out to really get into the heart of the action by attending daily… it is a hard job, but someboady has to do it.
